Compendium of 2020 new releases



I'm not a huge Tommy Emmanuel fan, but he's undeniably a great guitarist. I like this format for him best, when he's not showboating, and just playing originals. This album says "best of", but it's a new recording and appears to be entirely solo acoustic. I'll probably like this better than anything he's done before.
 
That Fiona Apple record aged like a wet fart in a crowded theater.

New Woods album's pretty good, tho.

Nope, Metacritic is an aggregate of real critics. Here are just a few:

NY Times: 100/100
Guardian: 100/100
Slant: 100/100
Spin: 90.
NME: 80.
Pitchfork: 100
UK Telegraph: 100/100
Paste: 97
Variety: 96
LA Times: 90
Rolling Stone: 90

Point is the rating/consensus about it hasn't changed since it was released a month and a half ago. And it was positive to begin with.

Well the statement that it hasn't aged well... as if a month and a half is an age... is just incorrect is all. Not that you should like or hate critics.

Everyone seems to be a critic of some kind. Though some have more coherent writing and actually listen more than 10 seconds to something.
