Listen to this - Classic rock isn't dead by a long shot....

For the most part, I never want to hear these songs again.

It's like the Ultimate Guitar Top 100 tabs...

For the most part, I never want to hear these songs again.

I hear ya, though I don't dislike most of them. As noted in the article, most CR DJ's are not allowed to change a song by those artists, even though there are plenty of great songs they could sub out for.

I only listen to CR stations when I have to.

I think there was enough music made in the '65 to '85 era that no one needs to intentionally make more to sound like it. But then, I don't think anyone ever needs to release another "blues guitar" album either. As much as I like some of the originals, it's been done to death already. No one is breath new life into anything, they're just there as substitutes.

And I don't see any "rock" in Jackson Browne phoning it in on what looks like a prom stage.

Classic Rock is a meaningless term, in the long run. Basically, it means "old music." Now that could even include the 90s and early 00s.

I like Jackson Browne's music despite his human failings, but was never that thrilled with that particular song. There is a video of him playing Lives in the Balance with Lindley on some odd instrument and Crosby and Nash on backup vocals that is perhaps my favorite JB moment.
