Now, if you're talking about those peanut butter-filled pretzels, that changes the calculus, but otherwise, chips all the way!

I no longer buy chips, because I'm eating low-carb, and potato chips are my kryptonite...

I'll take chips over pretzels, but couldn't imagine picking. My pop's family is from just outside Hanover, Pa., home to Utz and Synders and Herr's was nearby. Snacks were always around.

So you're saying that your avatar is a self-portrait?

my family are from Lancaster, so right down the road.
and don't forget (if they're still around) Stehman's chips there in Lancaster. very good chips.
and the Farmer's Market in downtown Lancaster used to have the Amish selling their foods, and that's were we'd get the soft pretzels...mmmmm.

@Devil is Dill also.

soft pretzels vs fries, hard pretzels vs chips are the appropriate matchups, yo

These together. Amazing.

Fritos, since they need their own category. Chili Cheese flavor with a greasy pepperoni sandwich.

The only time I look forward to Pretzels are when they’re in home made Chex mix and have properly soaked up that Worcestershire /garlic mix ....

... or at the ball park when they’re ginormous, hot, chewy, and have beer cheese to dip in. :helper:

Chips win hands down for me in a no frills, off the shelf comparison. No mustard to save the day.

If we can count the myriad flavors of chips, then I'd say Worstershire Garlic pretzels are also in

(One could argue that chocolate covered pretzels are also in play but I'm not gonna even go there)

If we're only counting plain pretzels then we're only counting plain chips. You chippers cant have it both ways

But arguably, that's having chocolate that also has some crunch and seasalt.... it's like a dog having a pill that is stuck in a hotdog wrapped in cheese, and trying to say "My dog loves to take his pills." :wink:
