Best hot dog/wiener/frank?

Only if served in a poppy-seed bun with mustard, onions, tomato wedge, sport peppers, and not-found-in-nature-green relish! Oh - and fries in a brown paper bag you can read a newspaper through!
This man speaks truth. This man for president.

Also, Best's Kosher 1/4 pounders are bomb ass dogs. Refer to above for toppings and bun.

A little follow-up: The kids came home this past weekend and we had a hot dog taste-off. Up for consideration:
  • Kirkland (Costco) 1/4 lb all beef
  • Local butcher shop skinless regular
  • Local butcher shop skinless all beef
  • Local butcher shop frank with casing #1
  • Local butcher shop frank with casing #2
  • Hebrew National all beef
  • Veggie dogs
The winner? A more or less tie between the Kirkland 1/4 lb all beef and the Hebrew National. They had identical taste and texture. The Kirkland wins by virtue of being massive 1/4 lb dogs, and by being cheaper than all the other dogs (pound for pound).

Second place was the local butcher shop's dog with casing variety #2 Wonderful snap when biting into.

The veggie dogs had roughly the same texture as play-dough, but tasted worse.

We tested grilled and steamed. The skinless dogs all tasted better steamed, but the dogs with casings were a bit tastier grilled. We theorized that the skinless dogs dried out when grilled, but the casing dogs held moisture in. Plus, the casing dogs' crunch was enhanced by grilling.

Very thorough review, GA! :thu:

I haven't tried the Kirkland/Costco dogs, but that doesn't surprise me at all. Their food items are usually really good.
