Best hot dog/wiener/frank?

My daughter is planning a 100 person or so reception, and has tasked us to come up with hipster/shabby chic light dining. One idea we've been considering is a hot dog bar.

What's the tastiest hot dog/wiener/frank out there? We've looked around on the Internet and came up with a few ideas, but I thought I'd see if any of you know of something good.

Are there any good local butcher shops in your area? That’d be my first call.

With that many people, you’d definitely also have to buy veggie dogs materials as well.

Yes, we have a local butcher shop that sells great stuff. The wife and I disagree on their wieners. Their wieners have a very "snappy" casing. I love them, but the wife hates them.

We'll for sure have turkey dogs and veggie dogs as well as beef and pork.

Nueske’s Applewood smoked weiners. Natural casings, really smoked over applewood, and amazing. I’ve never had better. Only problem is they’re only available via mail order from Nueske’s.

All weiners you find at the grocery store these days have NO casing. As part of the manufacturing process, the casing is removed after they are pre-cooked, and because of the way they are made, they hold together without casings. Only hot dogs made the old fashioned way (i.e. not injected slime out of a machine) have casings these days.

Costco has a HUGE variety of sausages, kielbasa, and then both all beef, all pork, and different sorts of hotdogs/weiners. Their 1/4 lb. all beef frank is fucking DELICIOUS and you can get 'em by the case. Perfect for that sort of thing, but if you have a good local dog that people like (or a fantastic butcher that makes their own) you should definitely get a couple. The supermarket destroyed the American butcher and we need to bring it back!

As I mentioned earlier, we are fortunate enough to have a fantastic local butcher shop, and they make a wiener that I think is delicious, but it has a seriously "crunchy" casing. I love them, but my wife hates them.

They also make an out of this world brat-sausage that will definitely make the menu. I'm really hoping the wife never finds out what the casing consists of :)
