Bands that have the most annoying fans

It's not my impression that music is as tribal as it used to be. I was born in the mid '70s and got into music in the mid '80s where you were either into mainstream synth pop (the majority), hip hop or metal (metal being quite niche), and then there were a few outsider kids who were into stuff like The Cure, Talking Heads and even Joy Division. It defined who you were, and you couldn't really embrace it all and remain credible.

The zoomers I've worked with come across as much more open to anything, for the most part, with the odd true connoisseur or more committed consumer here and there, and it's like they pick stuff song by song rather than by artist, album and least of all genre. This is purely anecdotal and based on the, I guess, maybe 3-400 gen z kids I've trained and worked and hung out with.

I don't think you can label fans of a particular band or genre as better or worse per se. That said I've been to maybe four or five King Diamond shows that were all good times with lovely crowds, and one Iron Maiden show, to see what that was all about, where I witnessed like eight or nine quite violent fights with bottling and head stomping, and loads of vandalism, people smashing car windows and throwing bottles at busses, stuff like that.

As much as I like The Dead, I agree that a lot of Deadheads are pretty darn annoying. But it’s usually the non musician types that are on the bus and wholly committed to the “lifestyle”. Not only are many annoyingly broke slackers, but they tend to smell bad too.
But I’m so old and out of touch that I can’t even be annoyed by most fans of anybody because I have no clue and don’t care.
 
Something tells me that annoying fans are probably just folks you'd find generally annoying even without the band connection.

Yeah, they were bad too, but I mean how the folks that like Ted's big mouth give him attributes that he doesn't have. They'll tell you with a straight face that he's the greatest guitarist ever while contending that Bobby DeNiro can't act, Bette Midler never could sing, Barbara Streisand never deserved fame, Madonna was always ugly....etc...

It's exhausting dealing with their Upside Down.

While I'm 100% against Chris Brown beating the crap out of women, my fiancée's son played pickup basketball with him at a gym 7 years ago. Her son was in high school then. They went 3 wins, zero losses that day.
 
If you Google it up then the two top bands that always come up as "most annoying fans" is always Tool and Radiohead...Tool because the fibonnaci sequence" and Radiohead because the fans in general...very pretentious

I like me some Radiohead, but I don’t get how one would become a fanatic.
