Any marksmen here?

I used to shoot a lot.
My eyes are trash now,so why waste ammo.

I did qualify expert in the Marines.
What a difference 35 years makes huh?

ya know....scopes can help make up for poor eyes.

I did that in the 'Corps also. Never saw any kind of scope untill hitting the range at Camp Pen in Cali. The scopes made it almost too easy compared to iron sights. Myself and a couple other guys were hitting 2 inch bulls from prone out at 750 yds with 10x scopes mounted on an M16. We had a PMI who brought out his own sniper rifle one day. This thing was a much upgraded M14 with an extended barrel and a fold up bipod on the underside. This guy trained at Quantico as a marksmanship instructor....

If I can off er anything here... remember the BRASS acronym.

Nothing politically incorrect about owning and using a firearm. Letting it define you or letting it make you think you’re superior to anyone else is where the problems start.
 
Ok thinking about a wheel gun...and thinking of a 357

I like that Smith and Wesson has the classic series and thinking about K frame 19 classic...but what about the N frame 27? Not going to be a carry/hunting gun

Opinions?

If the gun is for the range, then get the bigger frame. Despite the machismo of the internet, the 357 has pretty stout recoil, and the larger/heavier frame takes some of that out of the picture. Unless you need to carry it, there is no advantage to the smaller frame.
 
The S&W Model 27 was the first Magnum and is N frame.
I have fired a friends 27, nice gun.

I have a Ruger GP100 6" Solid gun,it is about L frame size.
Recoil is not too bad on either gun.

back in the mid 70's i bought brand new, 2 Model 27's. one in the 3½" and one in the 5 inch. (they changed to 4" & 6" later in the 70's)
wish i had them back today. but yes, VERY nice pistols.

Why not split the difference and get an L frame (Model 686). That's the ideal size for a .357 IMO.
 
I know I should be spending money on musical gear, but... my latest acquisition, a Smith and Wesson 1969 19-3 357
