Achtung! A Major Announcement from your favorite forumite (me!) - I will be releasing a six-song EP in February... Thank you for your attention to this matter!

smurfco

Meatus McPrepuce
I've posted some demo versions of a few of these tunes, but over the past couple of months I've been working really hard on getting full versions recorded. I'm finally done tracking these songs (I recorded them at home), but for the first time I'm going to get these professionally mixed and mastered. The mixing guy I'm gonna use has worked with Spoon and the mastering guy is highly regarded here in Austin as well. I'm super excited for this to come out, I've really worked hard on it and I really can't wait to hear what it sounds like once it is properly mixed and mastered...

Stay tuned for updates. I know I'm not your favorite forumite btw...

Cool! Looking forward to it! I dig your stuff!

And yeah, fair enough, you're my second fave forumite, but still..

Oh, damn...another year of not getting to mix a Smurfco tune...

Good luck with it, I'll be grabbing it as soon as it hits your Bandcamp...

Update - five of the six tunes are mixed and I just can't wait for you all to hear it. It is definitely the best thing I've done in terms of sound quality and it hasn't even been mastered yet. I'm thinking I will for sure get some vinyls printed up...
I'd buy physical media. I have the used for comparison record. Would it be a 45? I don't have any EPs on vinyl. My copy of Songs in the Key of Life was missing the little extra record, which is the only vinyl EP I can think of.

I think it would have to be a 12 inch. The six songs together are about 25 minutes long and apparently that's too long for a 7 inch with decent sound quality... I guess I could do a 10 inch or something but that might be more expensive because of the odd size. At any rate that will come later on

It's rad that you still got the UFC vinyl! I've still got a box of those things. I think we overestimated the demand that would be out there for them by several orders of magnitude…

"tis a good album indeed. I have not been around enough to hear your recent tunes, so I look forward to listening to this new stuff.
