I understand they're supposed to be quite good guitars.

The looks of this one however...bloody hell, no.

Hahahhahahahhahaha.....

Here is the Burning Water album. The guitar is a perfect fit.

I too would not drop the requested coinage for this guitar, but other than that I'm okay with it.

Ideally it would have a maple board.

This is basically a Michael Landau signature model at one point. He's playing custom shop fenders and Suhrs these days. I think you can get a similarly spec'd new Suhr for less than this used Tyler.

I don't understand...the overwhelming majority on this board do not like relic'd guitars. This one is not only heavily relic'd but imo looks like a poor relic job all around, yet I'm seeing a lot of people liking this guitar save for the headstock......am I missing something here?

Nah, to me it's just another overpriced not so good looking blue chip Strat copy. It would have to be the guitar of a lifetime for me to spend what's being asked for it.

I think the finish was supposed to replicate something more like a melted paint job rather than a relic. Not quite sure about the stripped arm-rest area...maybe something their actual player roster liked? Even with that, this is an immaculately finished undistressed guitar finish that is clearly not to the liking of many here. Most of the "accolades" (barring my own) that I'm reading are talking about the excellent reputation of Tyler's guitars, with very little enthusiasm for the aesthetics.

Different strokes for different folks. The finish kind of reminds me of the layered and sanded (then sealed) finishes that ESP was doing for a while. I actually dug those in general but found the most famous version to be too bright:

It's not a relic. People hate on the Tyler headstock, but with the exception of maybe one or two, nobody is buying it because of the price.

I can see it's not a relic now....I'm looking at it on my phone and didn't really look closely.
I'm not a fan of the finish. Lol

By reputation, it'll be a great playing guitar but the headstock just isn't nice and I don't like the finish irrespective of price.

Would.

Tylers has hands-down the best buit Starts. His neck and fretwork definite makes it into the "all time best" argument.

And I've always loved the Burning Water finish ("burning" is in the name for reason), mesmerizing.

I agree his headatock sucks and I don't like the sanded cutaway (he does make them without that as well), but I would take it as is.
