Fender Parallel Universe Strat-Tele

The Strat-Tele hybrid is the ideal instrument for throwing down hot licks in any setting. Fender dressed up the traditional Tele body with professional touches like three Custom Shop ’69 Aged Strat pickups, a Strat synchronized tremolo bridge and elegant silver “spaghetti” Fender logo. It’s business in the front and party in the back with this versatile, intriguing limited-edition guitar.

The ash body sports the sleek Comfort Contours of a Strat, making this guitar a joy to play, The ergonomic style extends to the American Professional “Deep C” neck which hosts a 9.5”-radius fingerboard with 22 narrow-tall frets and bone nut. The Strat tremolo bridge rocks, dives and screams as you would expect. In a final elegant aesthetic touch, the Limited Edition neck plate marks this instrument as one-of-a-kind.

The pick guard lines up rather well.

Most of these attempts in the past screw that up.

I don’t really dislike this.

Imma gonna give this a thumbs down. It is a strat in tele clothing, and I don't like the strat sound for my playing.

Yea. When you give up the Tele plate for a vibrato, it becomes something else. Even if its still shaped like a Tele, it won't do the Tele thing.

I don't understand the appeal of this hybrid. I agree with @Pine Apple Slim, why give up all the ergonomics of the Strat if you going to use all the rest of the Strat parts anyway? Warmoth was pushing similar bodies even before the Fender rolled out, and those bodies seemed to litter up their showcase forever.

Ok, so you got a contoured Strat that looks like a Tele.
I don't see the advantage other than looks.
And IMO theres nothing wrong with how a Strat looks so shaping it into a Tele is just superfluous and vain.

Asthetically, I like this. But.....
Its just a Strat without one of the best Strat features, the ergonomic and comfortable Strat body.
With none of the advantages of a Tele, just the shape.
So ultimately, I have to give it a thumbs down.

It's contoured on the back:

I'm okay with it as a curiosity. But not for the price.

Ok I'll admit.....
a) If I was looking for a Strat.
b) I played this thing and it tickled all the Strat special places.
c) the price was really good.
I'd probably buy it.
