2026 Concert Thread

I am seriously considering splurging over $500 to see My Chemical Romance in Denver. I’m not even a huge fan of the band but The Black Parade is an incredible album and I’d love to see them do it live. But I’m not exactly thrilled at the idea of seeing a show in a baseball park. Baseball parks are not built with acoustics in mind.

The only thing we have penciled in so far is that we're thinking about catching the Wallflowers this spring. Not a huge fan, but they're decent and it's relatively local and affordable. Waiting for some of my favorites to announce tour dates, so maybe more action in the fall.

Was gonna go see Los Lobos at the Birchmere again, but it's the same date as the Dylan show I'm taking my youngest to Asheville, NC...can't defy physics and logic.

I got decent seats for Tori Amos at Red Rocks. I was at the gym this morning trying over and over to get tickets but every time I checked out I got an error saying that the tickets were already sold. I gave up after 10 minutes of trying. Then I checked again this afternoon and most of the venue was available, I guess it was broken for everybody in the morning.

The AXS ticketing system is frequently a shitshow. Last month I picked up tickets for Alabama Shakes at Red Rocks and I was ready to take a hostage by the time the whole process was done. Still, we ended up with decent seats.

I saw Tori in 2024 and it was a great show. She's coming here in August, but I think I'm going to pass this time around.

Got my ticket for this show this spring..... Pretty geeked at the lineup because Satch and Vai have Kenny Aronoff, Marco Mendoza, and PETE THORN in their band. :baimun:

There was a time when I would have eaten this up, for Vai and Animals As Leaders. Satriani never really did anything for me. Objectively great musician, but his music and I just don't connect.

I want to hear great songs, any great playing is a plus. Great playing without songs that I really want to hear isn't for me. Beck is really one of the very few instrumental guitarists whose catalog I regularly revisit.

My unsolicited jabber aside, this should be a killer show for fans. The "worst" musician on the stage that night will still be a top tier player in the industry.

@Dogsinplastic My most recent concert was Richie Kotzen and John 5. It was the first guitar-centric concert that I've been to in a while, so it helped that Kotzen is such a good singer. I hope that I don't leave the Satchvai just numb from "too many notes" syndrome. :helper:

Yeah, Richie is an amazing player, but that voice elevates his appeal and arguably his songwriting.

Too many seems unavoidable, but they’ll be excellent.

I was planning to see Mike Dawes a week ago but he tore his bicep tendon (no idea how) so he cancelled his entire tour.

Never saw Triumph back in the day. Might catch them this year. Haven’t decided yet if I’m getting a couple or three tickets in the affordable section and bring friends or go it alone and sit first couple rows.

They played at my high school. I didn't know that they got back together

I just added a few more shows to this year's calendar:

Wilco
Fred Hersch Trio
Gwenifer Raymond
Ali Siddiq
Kathleen Edwards
Sadies
Robert Plant
Marc Maron
Joe Jackson
Alabama Shakes
Rush (x2)
Maria Bamford

I am going to see Black Country, New Road in June which is cool because that’s the one band I was hoping would tour the States soon. Probably the one “big” show I was hoping would happen.

Just scored tickets to SatchVai on May10th. I've been getting into Animals as Leaders lately.
All these guys hit every note on the neck before their first chorus but it should be fun.
It happens to be my favorite venues in the area. 3,000 seat purpose built theater. I can be out of the venue and home in under 15 minutes. Oh, and free parking. :)

This week we bought tickets to Courtney Barnett in May at the Fillmore in Philadelphia and for Sugar in October at Union Transfer in Philly.
