I agree with Jelloman not a fan of slotted headstocks either but Larivee's are supposed to be very nice and it sure is purdy...but too rich for me

I really like Larivee guitars. They tend to be very tight when they are brand new but they open up very well. I have played a bunch of then, new and used, and they are a brand I really like.

Hmmmm, I think it looks kind of neat, and I like slot headstocks on acoustics. I wouldn't mind taking it for a spin.

I'd give it a go. I've not played a lot of Larivees (there aren't any dealers in my area of which I am aware), but the few I've picked up have impressed.

And -- all you slothead haters are wrong.

The slotted head isn't my favorite, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. I like the rest of the look, and would be happy to take it for a spin.

Sylvan Music in Santa Cruz has them, and I think Starving Musician on Stevens Creek does too.

Failburst and the slothead is not a functional advantage at all. I have a couple nylon classical slotheads with tie-off bridges. Masochism seems to be wrapped up in that tradition. Otherwise, Larrivee usually makes a great sounding guitar.

Never dealt with a slothead--what are the advantages/disadvantages, beyond the cosmetics? I think they look kinda cool.

that's a nice looking guitar, but the finish is a bit much. I love bursts on anything, acoustic or otherwise, but that one is bordering on the unnatural color-wise. I could accept it on a bargain guitar, but I wouldn't be able to pay premium prices for an ugly paintjob.
