    Long-term Gig Spam

Hey there, fellas. Just in case anyone's interested, I'll be holding the Guitar 1 chair for the remainder of the 1st national tour of "Tina - The Musical". You might not dig it (frankly, it's a pretty riveting story, obvs), but dollars to donuts your wife/significant other will. Yes, you will...

OK Joe Satriani redeemed himself! G3 content

It could be the venue, too. Some just have dead spots where the acoustics aren't good. I don't bother anymore, but I used to walk around the house during soundcheck to see what my guitar rig sounded like in the room. Often, there were dead spots.

Did Dave Mustaine invent the spider chord ?

LOL! Yes, you might be right about that! Truth be told, I like Mustaine/Megadeth and I REALLY like Vai, too.

Question: The Only Guitar You Need

I can do every gig with a standard-wired Les Paul. I pretty much want every guitar to sound like that, anyway, so why bother playing anything else? So, if I had to unload everything else, I'd keep those. OTOH, I feel badly for guitars that get left out and try to use the gig-worthy ones with...

    Weekend wrapup

Haven't been here much lately, but here's some pics from the Capitol Theater in NY a few weeks ago. Really been digging the Reverend guitar that came my way a few months ago.

    Satch Boogie on a LP

Interesting. I tend to agree with that. HOWEVER -- I tested that theory a few weeks ago by bringing a vintage spec Tele as a backup to a gig. Sounded fantastic, but did not get the job done and absolutely couldn't use it for some songs. So, I think there are limits to that theory.

All modelers sound the same now.

I think there are differences in hardware in these units. By that, I mean how robust the circuit boards are, the quality of jacks, pots and switches and how they connect to the boards, etc. In other words, how likely are those things to fail if you drop it? Those things, of course, may or not...

Which Guitarist squandered their talent the most?

All good choices. But I don't think any of them were writers, so unless you've hitched yourself to someone who can write....
