That's good stuff, SVL! Free makes it even better.
Combining the rear rack and fender means you might have to find a longer bolt for the mount near the axle since they will be sharing it. Otherwise, you're ready to roll.

My ancient Bontrager Ti 26er. I had the fork rebuilt last summer and changed out the stem. Other than that it's my same old ride.

And my Salsa Vaya set up for touring. Anymore I ride it more than the Mtn Bike. In the last three years I've toured the Oregon coast twice and the N. California coast once. I've got a Lost Coast tour planned for June. 90% of the time tho', it's stripped bare and I use it for weekend gravel grinders. I use my wife's Fisher for a grocery getter.

I'd like a cyclocross bike with one chain ring, about a 44, and an 11 speed (11-28 ) cassette, plus disc brakes.

If I could afford to buy a bike right now, this would be the basic description. I miss my Serotta road bike just because it was a really cool bike but the only bike I really wish I had kept was my cross bike. And I live in S. FL where nobody has even heard of cyclocross. I just think it is the perfect bike.

LOVE that bike, but was surprised the hydras went bad so quick. Even Bicycling mag got screwed. How long until they get you right?

Yep, SRAM should have the replacement hydraulic brakes out by now. I know a rider in Boulder that raced hers in 18 degrees without a problem. I won't be buying anything until autumn, so I can wait.

Yay!! A buddy of mine on another forum just finished building up this nice frame (That I bought from @Tig ) for me. Looks awesome! Can't wait to try it out!

My poor old '92/93 GT All Terra in red marble. Needs some work after somebody bashed it with with the tractor or the hay truck. :(

I just peed my pants. That is SOOOOO fukkkin hot!
I am really, really excited! It is across state in Pocatello right now, where my friend Spud who built it up lives. I have to head the other direction to Boise today for my daughter's soccer so can't run over there to get it. And tomorrow being Mother's day, . . . gonna have to be patient. Hopefully I can figure out something this week to retrieve it and start riding it!

@IamSeaDevil - any preference on cheapo 7 speed cassettes? Looks like the shimano tourney 14-28t is reasonably priced on amazon. I think besides that I'd just need a wheel and chain to get rolling again.

Yeah same question to work with 1989 Deore XT II. I am putting 700c wheels into my old mountain bike as part of my commuter conversion process and will need a seven speed cassette.

Well, after closer inspection on the GT (and some forum browsing) I just picked up a cheapie replacement bike off craigslist. 'Course, it bit me in the butt, as I didn't look closely enough and it needs a rear wheel and brakes. So I ordered those off of amazon this morning and now my cheapie used bike is running almost as expensive as a cheapie new bike.

Oh well. I like it, although I'll probably peel the stickers off at some point.
