Hot or Not? This Telecaster

Really, I don't like the look of korina. I recently saw a NF3 in korina with a vintage clear finish and thought it badly need to be painted a solid color.

well Elias doesn't like the look of walnut and thinks it needs to be painted a solid color. so either you're both right or you're both wrong.

When I think walnut guitar, Paul Roger's walnut strat comes to mind. Does walnut have any special tonal qualities, or do you just use it because it's walnut? If we are just using it because it's pretty should you be able to see it?

all woods have different tonal properties. whether it makes a difference and can be compensated for is another story.

Walnut is hard, stable and fairly bright. Think of it as 80% maple and 20% mahogany.

I started experimenting with some Duplicolor "chrome yellow" last night. I find that a clearcoat followed by a light yellow coat gives a similar effect to butterscotch. Colored, but slightly transparent. I'll post some pics tonight.
