Let's do this thing!... Who's up for Baimun's Midwest Guitar Fest?

baimun

Funkasaurus Rex
When - Saturday April 4th (yeah I know it's the day before Easter, but it's Spring Break and my wife will be in Florida with her Aunt.)

Where - Apollo Pro AV 1905 Fieldhouse Ave, Elkhart Indiana

WTF - Planning on setting up a Drum kit, PA, have a couple amps, cabs, a Kemper, and at least one Bass. Bring an instrument... bring an amp... some pedals... or just your smiling face. :helper: Let's say Noon - 10 P.M.

We'll have a couple coolers of Beer and Water, will plan on pulling out the BBQ grill weather agreeing.
Accommodations and Strategic Supplies:

Like stated before, the South Shore train from Millennium Station in downtown Chicago runs to the South Bend Airport is available for under $20, but the airport is a half hour drive each way from the shop so there would either be an Uber or careful scheduling for one of us to break away from setup and hosting duties to make the run back and forth.

Comfort Suites South Elkhart - 27838 Co Rd 24, Elkhart, IN 46517
Holiday Inn Express South Elkhart - 3610 S Nappanee St, Elkhart, IN 46517
both are 2 miles away... and half way along the way is Chalet Party Shop in case you want a particular beverage.
If someone comes in Friday night... I can plan on doing a Karaoke dinner 600 feet from the shop at
Snappers Sports Bar and Grill, 1915 Borneman Ave, Elkhart IN

This could be pretty entertaining. :helper:

As you can see from the height of the line arrays and screens, we’ll be able to accommodate a good group of people who want to jam as well as those who just want to be audience.

We will likely have to tape off some areas for insurance reasons… like nobody in the wood shop area with the band saws, sanders, and routers… but there is a bathroom in the office, so nobody will have to run down to Snappers to pee. (If you feel a toxic waste dump coming on, we may shoo your ass down that direction anyways.). :helper:

This has all the earmarks of an epic event. I wish I could make it. Unfortunately, I’m out.

I’ll be observing the pics and videos from afar. I’ll critique, evaluate, and judge the event based on what gets posted. :thu:

Same here. Looking forward to some videos getting posted.

I was going to see if another weekend is better but the weekend before is my Daughter’s birthday so I know that would get a big veto.

I can do the north and/or south legs of the Wein Jamstock Tour '26. I'm looking for reasons to hit the road. I need some motivation to play guitar more.

Also just remembered I was going to go to Indiana to check on some cabinets in April before they ship. The cabinet maker turns out to be about 10 miles away from your shop. HWY90/13

Also folks looks like he is just down from the RV Motorhome Museum. That's worth the price of travel right there!

Lemme wrangle my schedule and see what’s up. My schedule is dumb. For example, I’m in MN this weekend, Vegas next weekend, and NOLA the weekend after. Plus I know I’m spending some time in Milwaukee in April.

Don't know if you're joking or serious..... but there is a comic book / superhero museum called "Hall of Heroes" with all kinds of rare comics and props from movies on the north side of town.

I drove through there taking a load of something from Chicago to Cleveland.

I'm tied up that weekend, so I'm out. I'm going to see The Last Dinner Party. Sorry. I need my sapphic pop.

Kinda stole smurfco's thunder there a little bit, no?

Oops… not my intention. Just a weekend popped up with no other responsibilities, and I’d just like to see this kind of thing happen more frequently with geographical diversity. :baimun:

Once we get into summer , my gig schedule makes shit tough to plan around.
