Happy New Mojave Mic Day!
I've been looking for a few mic for awhile and had been doing some research when i came across some reviews of the Mojave 201fet. Mojave is David Royer's "other" company (his ribbon mics are considered some of the best in the industry) and so far they have four models they produce, 2 being tube and the other two being solid state (fet) designs that compliment the tube designs, as well as being more affordable. The 201fet lists for $695 on Sweetwater and other audio sites... I came across this one on ebay for $500 BIN and decided to go for it. It arrived today and while I can't record clips until later this evening, I'm quite excited to try it out. Here are some pics in the meantime:
If you want to check it out more, check out http://www.mojaveaudio.com/MA-201fet.html. Here is the review that sold me on it: http://recordinghacks.com/reviews/tapeop/mojave-audio-ma-201-fet/ I'm a big fan of TapeOp and their advice has yet to let me down.
