To wire this custom configuration, you must use a 4-pole 5-way Oak Grigsby Super Switch. A standard Stratocaster switch cannot handle the series routing in Position 2.

Step-by-Step Wiring Connections
1. Pickup Ground (-) Connections
- Bridge Ground: Solder directly to the Main Ground (back of the volume pot casing).
- Neck Ground: Solder directly to the Main Ground (back of the volume pot casing).
- Middle Ground: Solder to terminals D2 and D3 on the switch.
(Note: Do not ground the middle pickup to the pot casing; its ground must be managed by the switch to enable series wiring). [4]
2. Pickup Hot (+) Connections
- Bridge Hot: Solder to terminals A1, A2, and A4.
- Middle Hot: Solder to terminals C2 and C3.
- Neck Hot: Solder to terminals B4 and B5.
3. Jumper Wires on the Switch
- Jumper 1 (Ground Link): Connect a wire from the Main Ground (volume pot casing) to terminals D1, D4, and D5.
- Jumper 2 (Series Series Path): Connect terminal D2 to terminal A0.
- Jumper 3 (Middle Ground Path): Connect terminal D3 to the Main Ground (volume pot casing).
4. Output to Volume Pot
- Bridge together Commons A0, B0, and C0 with a single wire jumper.
- Run a wire from B0 straight to the Input Lug of your Volume Pot.
How Each Position Functions
- Position 1 (Bridge): Only the Bridge Hot connected to A1 flows through Pole A to the volume pot. The Bridge Ground is permanently connected to the chassis.
- Position 2 (Bridge + Middle Series): The Middle Ground enters D2, passes through D0, enters A0, and feeds straight into A2 (Bridge Hot). This forces the Middle pickup to flow into the Bridge pickup before reaching the volume pot, creating a fat, high-output humbucker effect. [5]
- Position 3 (Middle): The Middle Hot connects via C3 to the output. The Middle Ground connects via D3 directly to ground, resulting in a clean, independent single-coil tone.
- Position 4 (Neck + Bridge Parallel): Bridge Hot (A4) and Neck Hot (B4) are active simultaneously. Both feed into the output at the same time, producing a Telecaster-like middle tone.
- Position 5 (Neck): Only the Neck Hot connected to B5 flows through Pole B to the volume pot.
