Wind the low E & A strings from the bottom up on a Strat?

I remember reading somewhere...it may have even been here...that some players wind their low E & A strings from the bottom up to reduce the break angle over the nut. It kinda makes sense, but I've never tried it. Maybe I will next time I change strings. It might help with nut binding on a vintage style trem? IDK.

Has anyone tried it? Does it really make a difference at all?

Could try it... but that said, I've never had issue with E or A sticking after a dive bomb. I have however, had an E string pop out of a slot that wasn't deep enough, so....

Just took a close look at my strat. A string doesn't look like too steep of a break, but may try it with the E next string change.

I tie knots.
