RIP Frank Beard of ZZ Top

This is sad. I'm glad I got to see them several times over the years.

RIP Frank. Like @bsman said, he'd been having health issues that caused them to cancel a bunch of shows. Sad to see he didn't pull through.

I wonder if Billy and Elwood will push on as ZZ Top with a new drummer. I kind of think not. Billy had already toured recently with The BFGs doing his own thing. I suspect he'll do more of that. He's reached a level that he can hire whatever hired guns he wants to tour with him.

Frank stepped away from playing live with ZZ Top August of 2025 due to health issues. The Reverend and Elwood have been playing live with Michael Monahan on drums. Billy said the band will “keep on keeping on” just as Beard wished. R.I.P.

Yep I just saw an article saying the same.

It sucks that they canceled the Colorado Springs show. I didn’t have a ticket, but I was considering buying one since the venue is a great place to catch a live show.

R.I.P.
