NAD (What have I gotten myself into now) Completed!

Lol, ONE carbon comp 68kohm resistor. The entire circuit including the eyelet board was replaced as per the original Fender Champ circuit at the time (AA764). Baffle is a replacement for the new 10” speaker. Transformers and pots are original, it’s pretty much a “new” Champ.

    Possibly NSFW Funny Pic Thread

I don’t have a pic. But when I was in training to be a baker at the Krispy Kreme, the guy training me was a seasoned perv. In demonstrating how the yeast process worked, he formed some dough in the shape of a small cock & balls. He placed it in the proofer, where it would rise in 45 minutes...

Now NAD! Lightning strikes a third time!

Congrats! At first I thought you really got zapped. PTSD on my end

    Need new soldering iron.

I use one often, I have several. Get a Weller if you’re going to be using it often, if only on occasion, Harbor Freight or the many less expensive choices on Amazon or eBay etc.

It’s not lucrative for sure, if it was, you’d see restos all over the place. I do it for enjoyment and hoping that at least one more amp might make it into the 2040s-50s for someone else to enjoy. And thanks!

NAD (What have I gotten myself into now) Completed!

Done, it’s pretty much a new amp. Cab, Tolex and hardware original except for the two back panels (MojoTone). They’re very well made and fit perfectly. They leave the drilling to you. Baffle was swapped out for a 10” 5/8” plywood that came with the amp (thankfully!) I applied the new...

NAD (What have I gotten myself into now) Completed!

Just a quick update: Reworking the entire circuit. New eyelet board, all new everything. I’m following the schematic, no big changes. Someone removed the feedback loop, so I’m going to add a switch so it can be placed in or out (there are 2 holes already drilled in the chassis). Reworking the...

    That new Boss Rotary pedal

I read that to hear the full effect of this digital rotary, you have to use the 2 stereo outputs, which makes sense. But I also read that one is wet and other dry, and I’m not exactly sure what that means. Sure does sound good in the demo! And $249 is a bit steep.

    That new Boss Rotary pedal

has me intrigued, since a real Leslie is not an option. Anyone picked one up yet?

NAD (What have I gotten myself into now) Completed!

Lol it powered up just fine, I brought it up with a variac and dim-bulb tester, fed a 250 Hz signal into the input. No issues, no hum, very quiet, no hissing or crackling. I took it from the shop to my little music room and plugged 3-4 guitars into it and it sounded great. The Gorilla sounded...

I have a current limiter to make sure it won’t catch on fire lol. I’m mostly concerned about those 3 big filter caps, but maybe I can wake up the gorilla

It did come with an extra baffle cut for a 10” speaker, so I’ll be exploring the options. 4 ohm output impedance iirc, so the options are limited. Got me wondering what that Gorilla sounds like. Link Wray after a 2-day bender?
