Some Van Halen to listen to

Bob411

thrumming with potential

The Carvin has arrived and it's DOA. On Arrival, not Or Alive.

On Off switch is broke, won't turn on. Head shell is broke in one corner, I think that's what took out the switch. The box it came in is perfect. Maybe somebody took a sledgehammer to it, mummified it in bubble wrap, and sent it out.

Used from GC. I called last night, they took my name, and number. They haven't called back yet. Told the guy, what I want more than anything is more time. You have 30 days to return.

Only worked half day today. Opened it up, soldered a wire across the lugs of the power switch. It worked till I flipped the rhythm lead switch then, no lights, no sound.

I'd return it at this point if I were you.

I wouldn't mess with it. They could claim it was your fault it's dead.

Still haven't herd from GC. Time to call them back. Depending on the weather, probably make a trip to the Joliet GC Saturday. Took some pics. First is from GC's website, before it was sold.

Am I the only one that wonders if the amp pictured on GC's page and the amp received are even the same amp? Something seems... Off between the pictures... But I can't put my finger on it.

Got to the GC in Joliet. Returned the Carvin, and an MXR ten band EQ pedal son said was too hissy.

I guess I'm not done shopping for my Christmas gift.

Yes, they did fine. disappointed about the amp, maybe someday, I'll find another, Carvin x100b for $200.

I'm not even in the suburbs, Joliet is just the closest GC to me. I live in Kempton, a tiny town of 225 people, between Kankakee, and Pontiac. basically, the middle of nowhere.

Rolling the dice again.

When I brought the Carvin back, it was no problem getting my money back, but what I really wanted was to keep the amp, and have them fix it. They said if I had bought the pro coverage, they could of done that, so I spent an extra 15 bucks on this.
