When jrockbridge posted about the Keeley octa psi I was mightily tempted to get one. After some back and forth mental wrangling I decided to see if I could get close with wha I already own. Electro Harmonix Mod 11 pitch shifter dialed in for an evil sound with some swirly modulation bits and a Tone City Fuxx octave up fuzz. I don’t pitch shift all that much but this was a fun way to spend an hour or so on this rainy afternoon.

Other than digital models, I don’t have a lot of fuzz pedals. And IME digital algorithms fall short of real fuzz circuits.

I have an Analogman Sunface, a Catalinbread Naga Viper and a Spiral Electric FX Demhe. I don’t own a single Big Muff or similar circuit. That’s why I am interested in the Keeley Octa Psi Transfigurating Fuzz pedal. It’s based on a Big Muff circuit. The octave, pitch shifting part is cool but that’s not my main interest.
