A TV dinner, if you will.

I had the Trader Joe’s spinach paneer a few days ago and it was OK. Not great, but not disgusting.

Before that, man, it’s prolly been 10 years.

My wife goes to TJs every month or two and stocks up on those things, presumably for her to bring to work as a lunch, but she doesn't read the prep instructions or the serving size. As a result, we'll have, say, a half tray of lasagna taking up freezer space because the box was the same size as a lean cuisine. So I'll work them into the dinner meal plans. I've done that Indian spinach one, since it is just a bucket of goop with no rice or anything. I'll serve it as a side dish with a homemade curry and rice or naan.

When I have to travel for work, I’ll spend a days worth of per diem money at Trader Joe’s and eat for the week, then spend the money I save on stuff like guitar pedals. There are usually a few frozen meals in the mix. I’d rather cook at home, but it’s not bad meal in a hotel when your trying to save some cash.

I have this quite frequently, including Sunday:

I’m sure I ate something from Trader Joe’s in the last week because I have a sprained ankle and I’m not going to stand up for an hour cooking real food.

If you want great microwave food go to an Indian grocery store and get the frozen meals imported from India and Pakistan. Haldiram’s is the brand you want to look for. If you’re cooking a complicated Indian meal it’s easy to heat up a food frozen side dish so you don’t have too much happening on the stove. The samosas and naan from Pakistan are also great. Naanwiches aren’t traditional but they are tasty. But don’t feed food from India to your kids; in India turmeric is commonly adulterated with lead to get a bright yellow color. So India has the highest rate of lead poisoning in the world and the government and industry aren’t doing anything about it.

Honestly can’t remember. If I did have one, it probably would’ve been a frozen pizza.

If you do want to know the correct Flamencology answer — and, really, who doesn’t? — Flamencology avoids the frozen section altogether unless someone’s craving a specific kind of ice cream.

Pre-cooked meals and take-out aren’t rare, though.

I’ve probably done a frozen mac and cheese over the last 3 years. Mostly when I would make a pot of chili and mixing it to make chili mac.

We occasionally do some frozen curry/samosas on a Sunday when I don't feel like cooking.

I had a chicken saag from Deep Indian Kitchen at Publix sometime last year. I like their stuff when I want Indian but I want it NOW.
