Overall, I think I liked the tone of the spruce. But I would still take that koa one!

I have a cedar top dreadnought and a sitka spruce top dreadnought-cutaway. The spruce sounds brighter and, as explained in the video, has more dynamic range. The cedar works best with a lighter attack.

I’ve gotten more compliments about my cedar topped guitar and how great it sounds. I think that’s because everyone has heard spruce. Cedar is something new to their ears. Also. I know that cedar guitar very well. It helped me develop my dynamic touch. It brings out the best in me.

The Koa is beautiful! Sounds good too.
