Had a filling put in a molar last Friday as the centre had broken off leaving a nice round hole.

all appeared fine until anaesthetic wore of. Ok, some pain would be normal, right?

Wrong, have been on painkillers all weekend, and woke up this morning with my whole cheek swollen. Painkillers barely take the edge off. Managed to get an appointment later this morning, they can take the tooth out for all I care, just make the pain stop

could use some mojo

mojo. I'm not a dentist but that sounds like they messed up somewhere in the process. I've had many fillings over the years and never had that happen but then again we have to pay....that's what you get for having free health care :cop:

I kid but i bet what happened is when they were drilling or whatever they do before putting the filling in is that they didn't get it all filled and you now have nerve exposed.
 
That sucks, dental mojo.

Week before last, my elderly mother had a similar tooth issue. We spent nearly all Friday at the dentist's and oral surgeon's getting it diagnosed and then fixed.

it does sound like an infection/abcess.
that should be able to be cured with some anti-b's.
