Why do we not want to know your gear? Can't get much cheaper than mine.
But that's the great thing about guitar...you can get great sound nowdays with inexpensive equipment.
I also play trumpet and there's no way you can make a shitty horn sound nearly as good as a nice one. Fortunately, you don't need a big collection of horns. One or two will do.

Well if you want to know, my gear is a Ibanez IJX30 and a Peavy Vypyr 30. It's pretty nice, but I plan to upgrade the guitar ASAP :embarrassed:

Then the recent bass I got is a SX SJB-57, it's really nice considering the price.
 
My son just got a Vypyr 30 for Christmas. I was worried at first but that damn thing sounds fine. I'm impressed as hell with it.
Always liked Ibanez guitars but couldn't get along with the necks. I was shopping for a new acoustic recently, though, and saw this little AC30NT 00 size for $200. The thing sounds and plays better than most of the $600 guitars in the store. Its mine now.

But I don't spend a ton on gear either. I have a couple of Epis, a Gretsch Electromatic bass, a cheap Yamaha hollow and my old Silvertone archtop.
My amps are cheap too. Vox AC4 and a couple of old Crate ss amps. One is for the bass.

Right now I don't have any plans to buy any more gear soon. Maybe later this year or next I'll buy a Gibby. Been wanting an LP Classic doublecut with P90s. A guy can find the faded models from the 90s for $500 or so.
That's about all I'm gassing for right now.

What guitars you looking at for the upgrade?

I would say a SG style, probably a Vintage VS6 if they still have it while I'm ready. I played one at my store and loved it :love:

It was mostly the neck, it felt perfect for me. I love thick necks :grin:

...although i will never understand how an item with 49 views, 9 watchers and 2 questions DOESN"T sell...:annoyed:
