I was surprised by some of them... Not so much by others.

What's yours?

Spotify has a cool slide show to remind you of your music trends over the past decade. If you use Spotify that is.

No, I tried it once. I chose a Bon Iver tune and a Fleet Foxes tune and then Spotify kept trying to push Iron and Wine on me. I hate Iron and Wine. Fuck Spotify.

It's finally happened- I've gotten old: I have no idea who any of these artists are, & I don't really care to either.

:omgonos:

Pretty sure everyone here would love the guitar tone on most Lord Huron songs.

Love like ghosts.
Meet me in the woods tonight.

It's pretty much a given I like weird music, but he's fairly mainstream sounding. Just happens to fit in cosmic horror in some songs.

I mostly started this to see what other people were listening to.

The mountain goats are fairly long running as well. Great lyrics.
Waylon Jennings Live! Has good Guitar.
'This Year' is what I listen to when I feel overwhelmed.

How do you find it? I can see a thing saying I've 'discovered' 395 artists but that's it..

Those were all indie folk bands for basic bitches in 2011 or so. And they all look the same. No surprise there is an algorithm for it.

It's like saying why am I getting backstreet boys just because I listened to nsync and 98 degrees.

Unsurprisingly my most listened to band this decade was Queen. A good majority of the listens was to learn the songs... :embarrassed:

I learned recently that they did a tour opening for Mott the Hoople when they started out. (Aerosmith as well).

Did you learn Dragon Attack?

I have never used Spotify, but I do like Waylon's live guitar playing. He got a lot of use out of that phaser, though!

Mountain Goats, they're the band that did 'Andrew Eldritch is coming back to Leeds', yeah? That one amused my inner teenage self. Also the 'Wolf' one was good.

Ya. That's one of my favorite tunes off Goths. They tend to do themed albums that are metaphors. Really good songwriting.

There's a song from the perspective of a middle aged Glam rock artist looking back on his glory days that hits me hard as an older, fatter, yet wiser person looking back on my younger dreams and what was acceptable back then
