so i got banned from sevenstring.org because i put up a for sale thread on a guitar that I had posted a NGD thread last week for.

When I went to the website tonight I saw the attached message...

I don't get it. Just Because I've decided to sell a guitar that I recently got(just because I have gas), I get banned for it? i don't get the logic behind this. Do they think people can be manipulated so easily by a NGD thread that they need to ban someone for it?

Besides the obvious fact that my gas is out of control right now, what am I missing here? Maybe I'm suffering from sleep withdrawal but someone please walk me through this.

They are being over simplistic to my mind but it would seem that they think that posting a NGD will inspire GAS for said guitar and low and behold 2 days later said guitar is available to buy.

I think the rate you flip guitars at is way quicker than most people and beyond what anyone who doesn't know you would expect. As an example, looking back at the guitars I no longer have, I think the shortest time I had one that I sold or part exchanged was about 3 to 4 years. Most were longer than that.
 
It seems to me they see it as spamming their board. You are using ngd threads to promote your new stock and then selling on their boards commercially.

We see it as it is Flipper...

Actually I think you are a closet banjo or blues harp player.

Here's why:

One of my best friends growing up came out as bisexual when I was here in germany, my family and friends all called and were shocked. He used to get so much tail, going through women like tissues. Seems he was just looking for some big kick that he wasn't quite finding with just girls. He needed to start sticking it somewhere else.

At least your thing is just instruments. But If you believe instruments have a soul, they must feel shitty.

They just don't understand that your GAS could be a clinical study case.....perhaps a new disease all together.
Something like UBER-GAS.
 
Just send them a link to all of your NGD and For Sale threads here. They will see you have a problem, not that you are trying to spam them. :grin:
 
They don't want to enable you.

Think of it as a bartender telling you "sorry, you've had enough."

At that point, some people go home, drink a jug of water, and go to bed. Some people argue with the bartender, and then the bouncers. Some people stumble around the street looking for another bar that will serve drunks. Etc.
 
Bottom line......why the heck should they care if you WERE using the NGD to 'promote' a guitar you turn around and sell? If you want to buy and sell a guitar a week why should they give a rats ass?

Geez...
 
@mystixboi1 .... I really think you need to start buying various painted Strat bodies, preloaded pickguards with quick disconnects going to the output jack, and various Warmoth necks like short scale, exotic wood, and different neck shapes.

This way, every time you get gas for something different, just unscrew the pickguard, unplug and swap... then enjoy your BRAND NEW guitar.

Then on a different one, switch between a snappy maple neck to a short scale mahogany neck....

... it will save you a bunch of money, grief, and in the process you may actually discover the individual components that you dig and don't dig.... or maybe you just want to take necks and pickups you like and put them in different colored bodies.

This one right now is $355. Your choice of tremolo route. I don't think they'd charge extra if you wanted the pickup route made bigger for a HxH pickguard and pickups.

I belong to Sevenstring.org (I haven't been active on that forum for a while), and I will admit that they get too draconian with using the ban hammer.

Considering your addiction to all things Music Man, I hope it wasn't one of these ugly things (Cream City Music had a couple of them for a few months, and every time I saw them, all I could think was "yecch!") you were trying to sell:

I was actually looking at this one last week. It's the only purple guitar that's ever tempted me...but I resisted. That grain is just amazing.
