Songs and their meanings

Dexter Inferno

Serious error
Just dawned on me...I've always been a fan of Marillion (Fish era), and just had a listen back to Sugar Mice, which is one of my all time favourite songs. But I jut realised how fucking depressing that song is. A drunk fucker at the bar with no one in his life....oh hang on that's me. Oh dear.

Sad songs often contain a lot of emotions. That kind of depressing passion can make for a great song. It’s a great sad song.

We all feel lonely now and again. Alcohol is medicine to numb the pain of life.

Cheers.

I never quite nicely understood this song, even the explanations I read didn't seem to fit, until I lost a close cousin to me and heard it after a long time. I then thought of it as a man speaking to a lost friend and it fit to about 95%.

They’re playing at the Colorado State Fair tonight in Pueblo.

Sad songs say so much.

Seriously though interpreting song lyrics can get deep, and in some cases contentious. I like a good sad/melancholy song.

One of my genuine favorite pleasures is a good old ugly sob to music, generally (but not exclusively) country songs.

I remember telling my friends "if I'm out on Friday night, you won't see me on Saturday night. I might spend Saturday afternoon with the AC cranked high listening to country, drinking spirits, and ugly crying though." I fucking love it.

I've had buddies message me on a Saturday and literally say "hey [Motorik] are you going to come out, or are you going to stay at home and cry to Gram Parsons again?"

No shame in my game.
