Song suggestions needed for an American-themed party...

jonPhillips

Strat's all for now folks
My 7 year old twins are having an American-themed birthday party in a couple of weeks.

Please suggest tracks I can put together on a couple of CD's that either have America or USA in the title – or are inextricably linked with the good old US eg: Sweet Home Alabama.

And remember it's for 7 year olds, so nothing too sweary...

Cheers chaps :thu:

Just give them AR-15s with big magazines.

Just kidding, Id say that anything by Mr Springsteen would fit the bill. Or a soundtrack from one of the Vietnam war films.

Plus put Katy Perrys 'California Girls' on plus that Alicia Keys one about New York.

And dont forget Burgers. Oh and invite a few fatties.

Song suggestions:

Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
California Girls - Dave Lee Roth version preferably
American Girls - British band FM (look it up, nobody knows about them apart from old farts like me)
Living in America - James Brown
New York, New York - Frank Sinatra (I think)
California Dreaming - Mamas and Papas
Country Road - John Denver
LA Woman - Doors/Billy Idol
My Head's In Mississippi - ZZ Top
Viva Las Vegas - Elvis/ZZ Top
Route 66 - Chuck Berry
Nutbush City Limits - Ike and Tina Turner
Star Spangled Banner - Jimi Hendrix
Blind in Texas - WASP (maybe not appropriate  )

Right, now I'm out of ideas.

Burgers and Stetsons is an awesome name for a country band...
