So. . .a bad day, but with a good surprise. . .

Punchy

Slacker Supreme
We had to take my dog to have him put down today, so that was very hard to deal with. But on our way home, my wife hands me a piece of paper with an item number on it and an address in NY for a guy named Chris. Along with the piece of paper, she handed me $120. It was supposed to be a surprise, but tomorrow this should be on the way:

I covered the other half of the cost + shipping. This is almost the same guitar I started playing electric on, except original and not hodge-podged together from random stuff I could find in the middle of nowhere Idaho :thu:

I'm really sorry to hear about the dog brotha, but yeah, thats a really cool looking guitar. I look forward to a review.

Hmmmm....

I like the looks of that guitar - and it would appear to be a steal at that price level. I'll be very interested to hear about how it plays and sounds!

I'm sorry to hear about your dog.....IIRC you were looking for a guitar like this for a long time..

Nice guitar. Can't wait to hear your review. Sorry about the bad news on the dog. Thats never fun.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the kind words.

These guitars are really hard to come by, and yeah, I've been looking for one for a while. None I've found have been in this good of shape, and they were more money. I guess when my wife was talking to Chris, she asked if it played well and he said it played awesome and just felt like a great guitar

Sorry about the dog.

Congrats on the guitar, but really really sorry about the dog. :(

You know, it was just time. As much as it sucks, and as wrong as it sounds, it was.

But now I don't have to worry about him hurt, or be cold, or anything. He can run free and be the happy go lucky dog he was meant to be :houra:

I had to put my two dogs to sleep a couple years ago. Royally sucked, but they were very old, and they had all sorts of health problems. Pup mojo sent, and congrats on getting the guitar.

Sorry about your fur buddy. I had the one pickup model of that guitar way back. Bought from my friend's dad when I was 15. Mine had a metal pickguard and different pickup, but all the rest was just like that.

Note: Not the Jackson.

Thanks man, we've had a few come and go since then.

Yeah, metal pickguard! It's a trip. I got my original one in a pawn shop for $25. Needed bridge, nut, tuners, the switches didn't work. . . it was glorious. Also, when I was playing in a praise band in college, the hum depended on which direction I was facing. Cracked me up, and I used it for effect from time to time

Just played this guitar for a little bit tonight. . .and then went to Chrisguitars.com to see what they had. Apparently he passed in April, and sold his inventory to https://jrieckmusic.com/ :frown:

Maybe I'll get this next from J. Rieck: Jackson Jenna Jameson King V

Haha, I remember when those came out. Early 2000s maybe? Who knows, maybe it'll be a collectible someday...but I kinda doubt it. Jackson should release a follow-up version with a current photo of Jenna.

So sorry about the dog. That always hurts, even if you know it's time.
Cool guitar score.
