John Hammond, Jr. has passed at 83. Saw him 4x w/ my dad in my teens. Great player of acoustic blues on Martins and Nationals, great singer, and really nice harmonica player.

This falls outside of his regular stuff, but this is also my favorite harmonica playing of all time:



That’s not John on harmonica in this tune, but that’s not important.

Lots of great albums, including a few with Tom Waits that are killer.
