RIP George Foreman

The death of boxing icon George Foreman was announced today. As someone who once lived in a building that didn’t allow gas or charcoal grilles on the balconies I will always remember George when I cook outdoors.

Big George knocked out Joe Frazier to win the heavyweight title in 1973. The rumble in the jungle ended his career with a loss to Mahammad Ali in 1974. Including his comeback in the 90's, his career had 76 wins, 68 knockouts, 5 losses. I hope he will always remain a boxing legend. I'll never forget him. R.I.P.

Foreman, Ali, Norton, Frazier.

It's amazing how absolutely huge heavyweight boxing was. Foreman was one of the best. Such power. And what a second career he had. I forgot how old he was on that comeback fight. And that grill! Dude was worth 300 million.

And he had charisma, not as much as Ali, but enough to serve him well outside of boxing.

he was one of the hardest hitting punchers in all of boxing.
all most everyone he ever fought said so.
i remember watching the Holyfield fight. Evander ducked the wrong way and George clocked him with a left hook that sent Holyfield thru the ropes and almost out of the ring. Holyfield played the stick and move game for the rest of the fight. and after he said "there will never be a rematch".
