Question: PRS Volume and Tone Pots?

Totally digging my new CE24 and will post pics soon. The volume and tone pots are actually useful and based on past PRS guitars I've owned, they're less liable to go all scratchy over time.

I'm wondering if I could drop the same pot types into my Les Pauls? One has Slash Alnico 2's and the other has 57's. Would they function as well as they do in the PRS? Any parts recommendations?

Biggest thing with many of the Les Pauls is they use the long shaft to reach the carved top... where as PRS uses those recesses at each knob, so they're the short thread pots like on a SuperStrat.

From what I understand, they're made specifically for PRS by CTS... but I don't know if anything is tweaked in the recipie.

Thomann sold them last I looked.

Edit: Still do, but 35 bucks a piece these days. Lord have mercy

Yeah any factory part is usually spendy.... I think you'll be happy with Bournes or CTS. former has an audio taper... where it's gradual, then faster. The CTS is a little more linear.

Not for me anyways, but the tone pot was 10.50 just last year. :embarrassed:

Forgot LP’s use longer shafts. Bleh. I’ll dig around and see what I come up with. Thanks

As long as you have the depth in your control cavity, you can make them work. You just need to put on a second nut and washer.

knob
shaft sticking out the correct amount
nut
washer
guitar top
washer
nut
pot

Just a reminder, we still need pics
