Dig it! Parts Caster: FINISHED!!!

As I will be putting together a partscaster this year. My kids bought me a surf Green strat body that is supposed to have a standard sized neck pocket.

I plan on sourcing parts and not skimping this time. I always try to make a great guitar out of cheap parts, but this time I've been sort of exacting. I found that Flaxwood guitars is now selling their Fender spec necks separately. I've always wanted a composite neck of some type and they come without tuners for 255€. I played one of their wood bodied guitars and loved the neck, so this was a no brainer for me. Lace Sensor red, silver, blue set can be had for me for 179 (creme) or 195 (black) and I'm pretty set on getting them from the demos and Billy Corgan proved how wide of a range tonally can be had from them.

This presents me with some choices. Do I get a lighter maple type neck or a black one? And creme or black pups on a black anodized pickguard? Some pics:

As is, I'm sort of partial to all black with the surf Green and it would be a nice contrast to the goody two shoes, pristine look of my normal Surf Green strat.

Anyone like the others enough to fight me brah?

And yes, I dig the 3+3 headstock on a strat for a change. The Flaxwood headstock has pretty straight string pull.

Personally, I like the cream pickups with the dark neck but this is your top end partscaster project so you should do what you really want. Looking forward to this progressing. :thu:

I like choice number 1. Maple neck with an ebony board? What would a matching headstock or two tone (ebony and matching) look like? Is a reverse fender Strat headstock an option?

Maple fingerboard.

Black pickups.

White controls.

But no matter what, I think it would look 100% hotter with a white pickguard and steel hardware.

I'm never a fan of white pickguards. And I already have my black wilkinson VS50ii sitting around that I like a lot and need to use.

Edit: your idea. Can't say I dislike it.
