I thought it was supposed to stay way south of here. Now looks to pass just to the west of Houston, so we will be on the “dirty” side. Had I known that, we would have stayed in San Marcos (which is well inland and probably won’t even get a drop of rain).

Thanks for the concern, but we should be fine. I'm not even boarding up the windows and our air conditioner was finally repaired on the 4th. The eye will be about 60 miles west of us, so the rain totals are expected between 4 to 6 inches and the wind gusts between 50 to 55MPH.

I've had worse.

I’m watching the radar and it looks like Beryl is heading due North instead of NNW, and maybe a few degrees to the East. That puts it a few miles closer to us than the current forecast. I spotted a similar shift during “Rita”.

The wind gust are pretty intense now, knocking down a section of old fence and a few medium sized limbs.

In the eye now! Wind and rain have stopped, but the sun hasn’t popped out as I hoped.

And dozens of people have immediately decided they need to drive around. Walmart is closed, ya knuckleheads!
