Now NGD. Birds not included

The fates already f'ked me sideways
I'm in the process of consolidating my guitar collection. The Gibson SG I built last year just isn't comfortable for me anymore. I used to like chunky 50's style necks. Now, I prefer thinner profiles. So I'm going to sell my Pelham Blue Burst Gibson SG Standard. Instead, I bought a used PRS S2 Standard in Maui Blue to replace the SG. The SG goes, as does my Epi Les Paul, a Peavey bass, and maybe some other stuff. In addition to the S2, I have an older SE Santana, an SE Zach Myers, and an SE Custom 24. I may sell the Santana. I haven't decided yet. I'm not sure if I'll buy another LP type. The PRS guitars cover that territory. So here's the pic. If someone local to Chicago might be interested in a pristine Pelham Blue Burst Gibson SG Standard, let me know. The S2 should arrive later this week. And it's a 2023. That's the birth year of my great niece. If she takes up guitar when she's older, this one goes to her.

I had an S2 standard and really should have held on to it. Lightweight and extremely versatile. I liked it better than any SG I've ever had.

Since NGD threads aren't valid without pics, here are a couple. As usual when ordering from MF/GC, it needs a decent setup. I'm pretty sure that the stock 85/15 LT S pickups are installed. This was the last year that imported pickups were used. They sound anemic. I've played with the standard 85/15 S pickups and they are decent. But I don't like the LT (low turn) version. I picked up a set of USA 85/15 pickups at a reasonable price. I'll install them after the setup. I do like the feel of the guitar, so I'll likely keep it.

That’s a nice looking guitar. Congrats! HNGD! :thu:

I wish PRS made more guitars without the bird inlays. I like birds, just as I like flowers, but I don’t want to see either on a guitar.
