Normally, I'm team pickguard on for a Les Paul...however...

I decided to see what my new Lester looks like without the pickguard. I'm not sure I can put it back on...usually I think it makes them look naked, but in this case, I'm OK with that!!

I sometimes anchor, mainly while playing lead. So, I leave pickguards on to help protect the finish.

I think your LP looks good pickguard on, or off. It’s attractive either way.
 
Yeah, I go back and forth on this question as well... You LP is beautiful in its full pickguardless glory. My heritage currently has its guard.
 
Its your guitar but I'm team pickguard

The guard went back on this morning, for 2 reasons. First, I do think it looks better with the guard - it adds some visual contrast that I think makes the exposed grain pop more. Second, and more important, I like to anchor my pinky on it, it's a super comfy spot for that.
