Listen to this - New EP

Catching bits of cool lyrics. I'm listening on phone speakers, but I'm really liking some of the guitar interplay and keyboard tones.

Listening now. Do you do everything on the recordings, then have a band for live stuff?

For Black Magick I do all the stuff on the recordings. Live, I just do a solo singer-songwriter thing. Looking and mixing things up in the future and maybe getting a bigger live thing figured out.

Glad I listened all the way through--Megafauna is my fave far and away.

Listened to the first song. Great singing, cool melodies. I would have left a little space when the ebow(?) guitar/synths come in- no vocals. Now the beautiful guitar melodies get buried a bit and conversely the vocals get a bit drowned out. Regardless, nice stuff so far!

Thanks. “Megafauna” is based on a riff/idea that was much dumber and much louder at one point and lurked in my sonic parts drawer for a fairly long time. At one time it was a song called “Lord of Heck” that wasn’t great.

Thanks. I tend to be a sucker for busy busy busy layering.

Firstly, dig the Album Art

Iridium, definitely digging when the chimey comes in and expands with layers. to the end
Wasteland II definitely like the chorus, good tone in the electric guitar, sits nicely and complements the song. Lots of elements blended together.
Night Driving Minnisota More Chimey! :). Bass is smooth and the layered vocals work well.
Really like the intro to Little Red, Digging the guitar sliding around in the stereo field. Modulating keys for the outro?
Doombox starting with nicely recorded acoustic, really nice sonic expansion in the chorus. Oooh, nice crispy sizzle in the outro
Megafauna is definitely my life right now! Thank Goodness for Right Now!

I have always liked you work. You have a unique voice and always an interesting perspective.

Thanks for the kind words. I believe the outro of “Little Red” is a bunch of different parts on keys and guitar. There’s some shoegazey reverb tricks and various ambient bits going on.
