National Football League 2019

As I said, I will root for Richard. Game on.

Me too...

Yes, I was not a fan of the younger mr Sherman. Too much of a chip on his shoulder trying to prove himself with his mouth. In the end, he proved himself on the field. He is still a talker, but not as much of a trash talker as he used to be.
He did a little with the Packers, I heard. But that is Sherm. Kinda like Gary Payton back in the day, esp. with Jordan.

America can't agree on what to call soft drinks or which way the toilet paper roll should unroll. I think implying that Americans can agree on anything is a stretch.

Uncle Sherm is in for a long day come Sunday.

We'll see about that. Not many QB's throw to his side, and when they do, they usually pay a high price. He has over 2x as many picks as TD's against him.

Watch how he covers receivers; he keeps them in his peripheral vision, but is turned to and has eyes directly on the QB. There is a reason he's the best corner in the game.

My guess is Mahomes will push it. He will throw to Sherms side 6 times, with a pick and maybe 2 completions for 20 yards against him total. He will not give up a TD. Hell, he only gave up one all season.

If Richard Sherman were white, America would love him.
Seriously, I had to check myself when Sherm was a Seahawk, and his verbal nature was bothering me. I thought about how I prefer the stoic drop the ball in the end zone casually as you stride away like guys like Largent use to do. Then it occurred to me that that is a very white pov, culturally speaking, and who the heck am I to judge someone who acts differently when all keyed up in a game, or in an interview before or after.

Richard Sherman's use of the phrase "plantation mentality" to describe NFL owners was one of the more appropos and piquant pieces of cultural criticism I've heard since Hunter Thompson passed away.
