National Football League 2019

Wow, that SF/Skins game was a slop fest. Missed the first half and half of the 3rd, but it looks like both defenses were solid. Skins have no offense to speak of, and SF struggled in the muck, but kicked enough FG's to get by. 6-0 anyway, but the offense really needs to pick it up for the second half of the season.

Really short game - few passes meant the clock kept running. Even though the game started at the same time as the GB/OAK game, when it ended, there were over 10 minutes left in the latter (my daughter and I were clicking between the two games). It was also funny - the SF/DC game on TV looked like an old NFL film - dark, gloomy and a fuzzy pic with all the rain - while the GB game was bright, sunny and sharp!

I'm chalking up the 49ers poor performance to weather. The Skins D can't hold anyone to 9 points, even the Dolphins put up 16 and the Giants dropped 24.

I don't know - the 49ers have a multi-weapon running attack that should have been able to put a lot of points up on the board. I'm still rather skeptical about the niners - only one of their six opponents have a winning record (Rams: 4-3), and for the most part their opponents so far put the woe in woeful. The next six games (Panthers, Cardinals x 2, Packers, and Ravens) are a whole different matter. I am very curious what their record will be after 12 games.

Shhh, I'm trying to be nice

I consider this his rookie season. By that standard, he's pretty good I guess. He still needs to prove he's worth the money, but I'm glad we have him and not Cousins.

Well, he’s got 10 more games to prove it. The Niners can cut him this offseason and only take a $5M cap hit.

Don't look now but the Vikings are 5-2.

Forgetting for a moment how good Lamar Jackson is, it seems anyone can run on the Seahawks.

Chargers just keep Chargering. The team reeks of the same sorrow as zoo animals - until they're restored to their natural habitat (San Diego), no one with a soul will feel OK.

After 6.x weeks of the NFL, no teams appear dominant. The Pats' D, the Packers' O, Russ Wilson ... all terrific, but nothing looking like a sure favorite.
