National Football League 2019

Oh C'mon. The Packers are the REAL America's Team. Fuck Dallas and their billionaire owner. The people of Wisconsin, baby!

Well, as far as evil billionaires go, Paul Allen is relatively benign, but the Packers are a public corporation, owned by individual shareholders in the state of Wisconsin. No comparison.
Who (the Packers) whine an awful lot about the refs, every time they play the Seahawks, when the refs apparently were paid to rule in the public corporation's favor last night, and based on the observations of others, other nights as well. Too bad, I used to feel an affinity for the Pack and Packers fans. But after they, and Rogers too, got so whiny, I soured on it.

An Paul Allen "was", past tense, at this point.

Also even though it is Joe Buck, this is fun to watch.

And all this is all in fun. I am sure I would enjoy going to a Packers game were I ever in town. I would prefer it to be a Bears game.

Living in the Bay Area, I have a rather bad attitude towards Seattle fans, particularly of the Sounders variety!

But I agree about the Cowgirls.

I'll be over here, with the Seahawks. Cascadia's team!

Speaking of the Seahawks, I keep hearing Russel Wilson, league MVP. Haven't seen any Seahawks games yet this year. Now I'm curious. I might be rooting for them in the playoffs again. People who are supposed to know, not just Bears fans, had the Bears almost a lock to be in the Super bowl. Now, it's looking like they will finish last place in the NFC North.

@Danhedonia called the Seahawks porous. They can be. RW is having a great year and his stats are great, and they are calling it a "career year" so far. He is really playing well. That said, he can't carry the whole team. And once in a while he will push a play that might bite him. But that seems to be happening less this year. They seem to be capable of winning most games (on any given day) but have struggled sometimes on D. Carson, the running back, has been playing well and is fun to watch run. The one other weak spot is that though the line has protected RW better, one or two of them are prone to dumb penalties at bad times.

My take is they are a fun team to watch right now, and are up near the top of their conference a game behind the 49ers. But how they do against a team like the Pats, etc. remains to be seen. They outgained the Saints by nearly double but lost because of giving up some big plays. It was the new guy QB's first day for the saints. Brees was out.

So, they are an "in the mix" team and seemingly better than average at the moment, and how it shapes up later in the year depends on injuries, and if they can fix some things on D, etc. RW has been playing really well, and has had some amazing passes. And they are fun to watch.

I remember when a lot of people said Wilson was too small to be an NFL QB. Not hearing that these days!

Must be missing something ... watching Wilson vs. the Browns I wasn't feeling "this is an amazing QB!" Then again, he's no Baker Mayfield.
