My Name Is Luka....

Andrew Sak

Even Andy Deserves Good BEans
Now I play on the Lakers floor....

I'm pretty excited about the Lakers being gifted 25 year old Slovenian NBA talent Luka Doncic. It's been a while since we've been this good. I'm not sure I count the bubble championship. They have won 11 games in a row against teams over 500. I don't have to tell you guys how well LeBron has been playing at 40. Add Austin Reeves and the gang, and they are legitimate contenders.

LETS GO LAKERS!!

I'm happy that Luka is in a bigger market for his sake.... like the way Garnett was appreciated but didn't really get his flowers until he went to Boston.

That said.... I can never.... ever.... root for a team with LeFlop on it. He is the living, breathing, travelling, flopping, whining, complaining, example of the worst of today's NBA. To crown himself "King" before he had accomplished anything in the league.... and then to take Jordan's inside joke he had with the scorers table to pat chalk in their direction and the start of the game and turn it into this flamboyant "Look at MEEEEEEEE.... ", and culminating in the hour long masturbatory "Taking my skills to Long Beach...". Now he poses on the court, plays zero defense, and blames every player and coach around him when things don't paint him favorably? Fuck him. He isn't worthy of sniffing Jordan's jock strap and anyone who thinks that he's is "the GOAT" has been drinking the Nick Wright kool aid too long.

One more "Fuck LeBron in the LeFace" just 'cause it's fun. :helper:

I dig the passion baimun. That said, I'm a basketball fan, and a LeBron fan. I can't remember a player having as much hype as he had coming into the league. Son of a biscuit if he didn't live up to it. Was it 8 or 9 straight NBA finals he went to? While I absolutely have Jordan as the best NBA player ever, it's not blasphemous to suggest LeBron might be. Most experts have him in the top 5. Many at 2. Some at 1. I think the experts are on to something. I have him at #2. I don't think he whines as much as my favorite Laker, Magic Johnson. He doesn't flop as much as Vlade Divac.

You may not want to watch tonight's game. He's 1 point shy of 50,000 career points. Nobody in the history of the league has played at the level he is playing at at 40. Kendrick Perkins thinks he's the best guy in the NBA right now. He tends to blow hot air, but hey.

As for the chalk. If my 9 year old son and his friends happen to catch LeBron's pre-game chalk show, their jaws drop in awe.

Would the Lakers be pulling a rabbit out of their ass if they emerge from the West? I don't think so.
What do I know? I pulled a rabbit out of a dumpster and it sits in front of our house.

I can give him credit on his accomplishments.... but I can honestly only rank him in that Malone/Duncan/Horry tier because of accomplishments over a really long career. Kobe was a much more impressive player with a better work ethic and had that Jordan killer instinct.

My interest in the NBA had really waned over the past 5-10 years.... finding it really difficult to watch players standing around instead of playing D and taking turns shooting 3's. I started watching Victor Wembanyama when he was in France and crossed my fingers that Detroit would have a chance at him, but they must have pissed on a voodoo doll considering how unlucky they've been with their draft seating. San Antonio was the place I thought would be next best for Victor because of Pops and the Tony Parker connection. He's single handedly restored my interest in the NBA.

I was worried that I would have zero reason to watch the rest of the year with Wemby out for that blood clot, but Cade Cunningham has really developed into a great player and I'm having fun watching the Pistons again. :baimun:

He's been to the NBA Finals 10 times. He's won 4. That's impressive.
No way is Big Shot Bob anywhere near the level of LeBron James. Kobe was. They had different tools in their sheds. I'm a big Malone fan. He had the unfortunate luck to play in the Jordan era. I also remember him delivering lot of elbows in the paint. They don't let them play like that anymore. Rightfully so in my opinion.

I've been watching lots of basketball this year. I find it as exciting as ever. The season has always been too long though. I don't mind the 3's. You can blame Steph Curry for their increase. Speaking of the three point shot, isn't that Caitlin Clark's main weapon? Aren't you a huge fan?

Boston vs. L.A. in the finals would be epic. They play on Saturday.

*Mojo to Kyrie Irving and his season ending torn acl.

My wife is the big CC fan. I’m a fan of playing a complete game of basketball… Offense and Defense, Stars and Roleplayers.

One of my favorite NBA finals was the 04 Pistons… underrated cast off from different teams coming together and shocking the world and the media that had already anointed the Kobe, Shaq, Malone super team as the defacto champs. Sorry if you were rooting for the Lakers back then, nothing person against the Lakers themselves… I actually rooted for them when Rodman was there for a year or so.

That’s why the games are played… and it doesn’t matter if it’s Alabama fans saying they deserve to being in NCAA championship position despite their losses, or other false narratives outside of just play the game and enforce the rules fairly. :baimun:

The Pistons were lucky that Malone got hurt. They very well could've taken it. Chancy Billups was a beast though. I thought the Lakers were a super team on paper too. Then you saw that they were old.
The Lakers have been playing great defense as of late.

Maybe it's rock-and-roll rebellious attitude... but (besides the Superhuman exploits of Jordan which first made me really like basketball) I've always gravitated to the players that just didn't quite fit in, or got bounced around multiple teams because of attitudes or that bit of chaos. Dennis Rodman, Rasheed Wallace, Allen Iverson, and I would even put Chauncy Billups in there because he peaked with the Pistons after being with 4 or 5 different teams, and had impact in Denver.

I hope Portland players appreciate and respect the knowledge that he brings to their locker room.

I like all of those players. I'm a Metta World Peace fan too. Aka Ron Artest. I don't even mind what happened at the garden. I'm not an advocate for violence, but if I were to toss a beer on someone, I would expect a pop in the chops. And if you are sitting next to the guy that tossed the beer, don't give a mean smirk to the beer soaked angry guy, or he may want to give you a knuckle sandwich too.

The Worm rules!
