My Ibanez Andy Timmons completely ruined the rest of my collection...

Kick Henry Jackassowski
So I've spent the last 15 or so years buying and selling guitars and amps to get me the TONE I hear in my head. I found that I gravitated towards dual humbucker guitars with high output pickups... aka Suhr Moderns, PRS CU22, Ernie Ball Music Man Luke III, Axis and Albert Lee models. Going through a huge Andy Timmons kick for the past year or so, I decided to take a gamble on his signature Ibanez. It has his Dimarzio AT1 in the bridge(which is excellent) and Dimarzio Cruisers in the neck and middle positions.

I haven't really touched another guitar since I got it. I spend most of my time on the neck and neck/middle positions. I absolutely love the tone on these positions... with the volume and tone knobs rolled back. It's so clear and natural sounding.

I think part of it has to do with the treble bleed that comes on this model from the factory. It keeps the tone so nice and articulate.

It completely curbed my gas for any other guitar.

I did buy a refinished RG3120 last week because it came up at a good price(and I know I can make my money back if/when I plan to sell it), but it just went onto the guitar rack after 10 minutes of playing. It's totally fine, just not what I'm into right now... but knowing that my likes are cyclical, it's a fantastic guitar to have in the arsenal.

The rest of my gear is collecting dust. And I'm ok with that because I haven't enjoyed playing this much in a long time.

Its great to find that perfect guitar.

BTW, is the gear in your sig even close to accurate anymore?
