If You Were Magically Gifted With the Ability to Compete in One Winter Olympic Sport,

Dudeman1967

blah, blah, blah...
what would it be?

I'm thinking Ice Hockey because I could make a good living after the Olympics.

I would love to be able to snow ski or snowboard. Luge and Bobsled would be fun.

Also I don't want any part of a sport that requires that I inject my manhood with anything to get a competitive advantage. Nor would I want to spend my time competing or practicing with lug heads that would do that.

Hockey is the only one you could really make a good living with, so I'll go with like temporarily gifted with the ability.

I've been fascinated by Luge my whole life. I'm a really good marksman, so becoming a world class cross country skier would be cool.

Biathlon because after I win the gold I can use my skills to track down the Yeti and take my revenge on that abominable son of a bitch. He knows what he did and why he has to die.

The one where a bunch of big burly men strap knives to their feet and smash into each other over and over.

Probably hockey.

I played some really ghetto ", organised" roller hockey when I was younger. I was an OK player, better fighter. Got sent off my first game for battering some gimp with the full padded gear on, helmet etc... I was in shorts and t shirt :embarrassed:

I'm actually a pretty good I've skater too. Went every weekend when I was a teenager, had my own skates etc. done it once in about 25 years at the Cosmopolitan pool in Vegas at Christmas.

Full of amateurs and kids, Mrs jbj did one lap then chickened out. Like riding a bike I was flying around, pulling tricks etc. great fun.

The Winter Olympics gave me the desire to snow ski. As a youth, I water skied on an Arizona lake many times. But, we did not ever get snow in the desert of Arizona. I finally learned to snow ski as a college student attending NAU, Flagstaff, AZ.

First choice would be Giant Slalom. It’s the closest sport to my current skills. I ski fast on steep slopes that are relatively smooth. It would be incredible to ski at Olympic speeds.

My second choice would be moguls. I don’t ski them as well as I’d like. It would be awesome to ski them at an Olympic level.

Third would be ski jumping. The ski jumps I go off now are tiny compared to the Olympics.

Alpine skiing. Lots of great choices though.

My last choice would be cross-country skiing. I’ve seen how when those folks cross the finish line, they collapse in the snow and lay there gasping like spilled goldfish.

It'd be pretty awesome to do the skiing thing with a huge jump at the end. It makes my stomach clench just watching it, but if I was good at it, it'd be amazing. Otherwise, is gymnastics a winter or summer sport? Those dudes are absolute beasts.

I’m guessing (and hoping) gimp means something different in your neck of the woods. To my eyes it reads “I beat the sh!t out of some guy who couldn’t walk because his legs didn’t work.”

Tough choice. Downhill skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding, and luge/skeleton/bobsled all look like they'd be a lot of high energy fun. However, I'd probably pick ski jumping. Probably about as close as a human can get to flying without a wing suit.

Figure skating. I feel that's the one I could make work in a casual group social setting, like a trip to the ice rink. It'd be like being a really great dancer, in that women love to dance/skate with you, and the dudes resent it. But those dorks can suck it.

He wouldn't have been a very good roller hockey player if his legs didn't work

The squeegee guy in curling would be pretty Rockstar.
