If only I had a few extra grand lying around right now....

This has been at the corner gas station for a few weeks...it looks pretty original (the interior needs replacing though) and I'm sure he's probably take $3k at this point...

I saw one of those on the way home from soccer practice last night. it was black but same car.

this one is cool because all of the sheet metal looks like its in good shape...mechanical stuff would be easy. Most of these have been low-ridered around here.

Wow. That would be worth a lot of money if it was fixed up. You should tell pop-in-law. That would be pretty flippable i would think.

I see quite a few early sixties Chevies out this way at good prices. The nice thing about those years is that all the repro stuff is available.

Oh christ.... why not find something less common...... mebbe a Ford Falcon wagon.

Those Are pretty common around here too. It's just nice to see one of these that isnot all chopped up. I kinda if want to rescue it before it gets ruined :)

A little high for a four-door post BelAir with what probably has a straight six due to the lack of any visible badging on the fenders. Now if it was 2 door hardtop Impala with a 283, I'd be all over it.

Those cars are cool, the best looking big Chevy's in that time period. It's Achilles heel is its X frame, there is no frame rail under rockers. The exhaust has to be custom made if you want duals, and the driveshaft goes right through the X via a carrier bearing (two-piece driveshaft).

It's still out there the last time I went by. I'm sure I could make a pretty good deal on it if I had the cash. I also know someone who owns a muffler shop so exhausts are cheap for me

I can't blame you for wanting one, if for no other reason than to keep someone from slamming it and putting airbags under it. That body style attracts more low rider dudes than any other. The only reason it's not already is because it's a 4 door. I had a 63 myself years ago. I love the dash. You could set a whole row of beer cans across it! :)

If I had a budget I actually want some sort of Dodge Dart from the late 60's but I really can't afford to buy anything right now...

Understood, I wouldn't have this one had it not been a freebie. I had told my wife before I got it, that if I ever got another hot rod, it would be 90% complete, not 25% and tons of work, money, sweat and tears. Then this came along, and I'm having fun for sure.

The Dart Swinger is a super cool little coupe.

My uncle Charlie had one new in '71, drove all the way from Atlanta with the hazards flashing (hazards were a new option) because he didn't know how he turned them on, got pulled over like three times  The horn was/is a rubber "lining" all the way around the inside of the steering wheel. You just squeeze the wheel wherever you're holding it. Cool! Slant Six, you couldn't go wrong with that.
