HELP My Strat has more twang than my Tele

That's just not right. Strat is a Peavey Predator with Rose American Beauties in it. Tele is Hamer with Fender Nocasters. Playing with same technique, or same lack of technique, the Strat has more twang. I love the Nocasters for what they can do. Don't want to replace them. Guess I'm looking for pickup suggestions for the next Tele. ..., or help with technique.

You say the Strat is twangier than the Tele but you haven't mentioned if either is at the right level of twanginess.

Is it a case of the Strat is extra twangy beyond where it should be or is the Tele severely lacking in the twanginess it should naturally have? Or both?

Fralin stock or Novak stock.
nothing will twang more
these are 60s spec.
5.8-6.6K, a5

your nocasters are 50s spec- 7.4K, a3
they should twang though
nocasters are some of the best pups you can buy

"Twang" is a precious commodity that is becoming more and more rare, and will soon be on the protected species list...it don't come cheap...

Or did someone do an anti twang mod to it?

what pots are in it?

try light strings and pick near the bridge but not on top of it.

twang is not a commodity its more like air: everywhere.

I was surprise how twangy my SG can get with the '57 Classic bridge pickup. This is one set of pickups I know I'll never change out.

Yeah..for me the "twang" comes from how I pick and what I play. My McFeely 454 actually got a better "twang" sound than the Suhr tele, which is one reason why I sold that too.

Does the Tele have a stamped ashtray or a modern flat bridge?

I used to drink orange flavored Tang when I was young....

Ohh had to reread and it said Twang.

It really depends on the wood of the guitar and the pickups. My G&L ASAT Classic is not a Twangy as my Tele Partscaster however with a few tone control tweaking and change of technique, whalah - Twang city!

@Bob411 - Change some of your technique on the strat. Pick closer towards the neck pickup and see how much that changes the Twangyness.

It's gold. Do you think that's the problem?
