Listen to this - Have we talked about the new Ghost yet?

not a huge fan of the verse sections but the rest is pretty cool. kinda reminds me of HIM a little bit.

haven't really followed, what exactly happened with them? is this the rest of the band w the new singer or the old singer w a new band?

It’s the singer with a completely new band I believe. It’s always been his project

I continue to adore the music/arrangements and feel meh about the vocals.

Luckily I don't think we have talked about it yet. let's talk about mer4cyful Fate and King Diamond instead.

At least when other bands do this type of music they front themselves with eye candy that can actually sing.

This is just plain meh, because I don't like them either.

Evanescence is harder than this. Much.

It’s funny that many metal heads turn their nose up at the production, pop-metal song writing, or non-cookie-monster vocals while I think all of that is the best part of this band. They’re immediately recognizable on the radio and have a polished sound.

It’s the whole “satanic pope” thing I just can’t get past. It’s like so many early 80’s bands that were trying to be “more Kiss than Kiss” with blood and pentagrams on stage...even Motley Crue used a bunch of that imagery early on. It’s ironic because Kiss was never “Metal” and only Gene was bloody and demonic so bands doing that seem like more absurd 25% of Kiss IMO. It comes of as so incredibly contrived and disingenuous to me. It pigeon holes all of the song writing and album art unless they eventually do an “unmasking”.

Bleh.

The devil is more interesting to sing about and to use as a theatrical image than anything else. It's a show

Theatrical faux-Satanism is a hell of a lot more fun than overly sincere metal guys trying to say something clever about foreign policy. Or whatever.
