Nice looking Tele. Snuck in a Squier today. biggrin

Pine body...I wonder if you chip a piece of paint off if it smells like Christmas?

I hear those are really nice guitars for the money. I'm still a little leary of most Squiers though.

And honestly, I'm not much of a Tele guy. They have their uses, even for me, but when I had one, I only used it for recording, and even then, I used it pretty sparingly.

Squiers are very hit or miss for me. It might be a nice guitar, and you usually don't see a lot of pine bodied guitars around, so I'd like to play one of those sometime and find out if it is any good.

Pione body. Yeah, I can go to freakin home depot and get myself a piece of pine. I should do that actually, get a piece of pine and build a freakin guitar out of it. It sure wouldnt be as ugly as that tele :embarrassed:

I think I'll try that.

Just get me a pine 2x12 and make a narley body out of it. Then slap a neck, bridge and spare pickup on it.

I wonder if anybody could actually hear the difference between it and any of my other guitars? :embarrassed:

Sounds like a good cheap experiment.

Leo originally made his guitars out of sugar pine. but he felt the wood was soft and too expensive. so he went with a harder wood that was cheaper, swamp ash. later, he changed to an even cheaper hardwood, alder.

I've heard that there is a whole group of guys out there making their own Pine teles and they're supposed to be quite good. I've never tried one but I'd give it a spin.
